Don’t forget about the outside of your home when preparing it for the spring market.


The spring market is here, which means if you’re a seller, you need to know how to make your home look perfect in the eyes of buyers if you want to sell for top dollar.


Spring brings greenery and a fresh new approach to the settings around us. One of the things we’ve learned over the years is that, when buyers view homes, their first impression comes from the outside. Since we spend most of our time inside our homes, we sometimes forget about the outside, but the outside is key. 


We know from experience that buyers make up their mind whether they want to enter a home or not within the first 30 seconds of pulling up to the curb. Once they get inside, they’re either thinking they can see themselves living there or they can’t, but it’s a lot easier for them to envision what changes they can make on the inside. On the outside, it’s harder to imagine what can be done to spruce up the curb appeal.

Here in Minneapolis, 90% of homeowners enter their home through their garage, so they don’t necessarily envision walking up to their home through the front door. That’s another thing to consider when dealing with buyers.
